The Rev. Luther Zeigler, Priest Associate
The Rev. Luther Zeigler is our part-time priest associate. Ordained to the priesthood in January 2008, Luther was educated at Oberlin College, Stanford University, the University of St. Andrews (Scotland), and Virginia Theological Seminary. He served this parish as seminarian in 2004-06.
Luther's full-time ministry is as Chaplain to the St. Andrew's Episcopal School in Potomac, Maryland, where he teaches religion in the upper and middle schools and serves as pastor to about 600 students and their families. Luther previously served as Chaplain to the Washington Episcopal School in Bethesda, and prior to that, taught ethics at the St. Albans School for Boys. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Mid-Atlantic Episcopal Schools Association. |

For over two decades before he entered the ministry, Luther was an appellate lawyer at a major Washington law firm. At the firm, he had an active public service practice, particularly in the areas of civil rights and advocating for the homeless. He has served on the Board of the Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless and represented, among other pro bono clients, the Children’s Defense Fund and the Volunteers of America.
Luther has been married for 28 years to his wife, Pat. They live in upper Northwest Washington, near their home parish of St. Columba's. Pat and Luther have two adult daughters, Kate and Ann. Kate recently received her Master's degree in English Literature from Stanford University and is currently living and working in the Bay Area. Ann is a 2008 graduate of Bowdoin College, and now lives in Boston, where she works for the Boston Red Sox Foundation.
