Stained Glass Windows at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church
Psalms and Parables
St. Andrew's is blessed to have plentiful examples of the art of religious stained glass in the sanctuary and elsewhere on the church campus. Some of the windows are
narrative in their presentation and often accompanied by explanatory plaques. Most of the windows were donated as memorials to parishioners. On the clerestory (upper) level of the sanctuary there are two series of interpretative
windows based on 18 psalms (east side) and 18 parables (west side). These windows offer opportunities for Christian reflection when their designs are juxtaposed with
the source texts. Please note that these two presentations each include over 3MB of photographs and may take additonal time to load into the web browser.

History of the Diocese, the City, the University, and St. Andrew's
Additional windows in the church and elsewhere on the campus tell the histories of the Diocese of Washington, the founding of College Park, the University of Maryland,
and St. Andrew's parish.
There are five additional windows in the church not presented here: three behind the altar depicting Jesus ascending surrounded by angels, and two more facing the altar from the side.
St. Andrew's hopes you enjoy learning more about the stained glass, and will have the opportunity to view these windows in person! For more information, please
contact the church office.
