Priest-in-Charge

The Rev. Bruce McPherson

The Rev. Karla Marie Woggon, our rector for the past nine years, was married in May, 2007 and accepted a call to Ascension parish in Hickory, NC. We are blessed to have The Rev. Bruce McPherson as our Priest-in-Charge while St. Andrew's undergoes a search for a new rector. For many years it has been his vocation to serve congregations that are in the midst of change and to help in that discernment process.

Priest Associate

The Rev. Luther Zeigler

The Rev. Luther Zeigler is our part-time priest associate. Ordained to the priesthood in January 2008, Luther was educated at Oberlin College, Stanford University, the University of St. Andrews (Scotland), and Virginia Theological Seminary. He served this parish as seminarian in 2004-06.

Director of Christian Formation

Nancy Maestri

As full-time Director of Christian Formation, Nancy Maestri coordinates the Sunday School program; leads Children's Chapel in the summer and on special occasions; consults with leaders of the Youth Group; supervises the nursery; and plans and leads several adult small groups including EfM, Bible study, and a personal spiritual deepening group. She works with the Rector to plan Sunday morning Adult Forum and leads special seasonal and intergenerational events and quiet days. She has an M.T.S. degree from Virginia Theological Seminary and did post-graduate work in Religious Studies at the Catholic University of America prior to coming to St. Andrew's in 2001.

Organist and Choirmaster

Dale Krider

Dale Krider, a part-time employee since 2000, leads musical activities at St. Andrew's. Dale is our organist, plans the music for all services and special concerts, directs the parish choir, accompanies the children's choir, led by Cindy Stanford, and oversees the Concert Series. He holds degrees from the Peabody Conservatory of Music, the College of Church Musicians of Washington Cathedral and earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Catholic University. He is a Fellow of the American Guild of Organists.

Parish Secretary

Aja Thomas is a new member to St. Andrew's Parish staff; she has been our Parish Secretary since October 2007. She is in the office from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. As the Parish Secretary, Aja is responsible for providing office coverage during business hours, general administrative duties, and preparing the monthly newsletter, the Sunday bulletin and other bulletins and publications as needed.

Financial Coordinator

Jennifer Thorson has been a part-time employee at St. Andrew's since 2005. As scheduling secretary, Jennifer is responsible for scheduling use of the parish building for parish events, committee meetings, and rentals. As financial secretary, Jennifer sorts all financial mail, sorts and codes all checks and bills, and processes pledges, including payments and statements. Please contact her if you wish to reserve a room for a parish meeting, rent a space within the parish for a private event, submit a claim for reimbursement, or if you have a question about your pledge or other giving.
