What's Up This Week with the Search Committee

The Search Committee met on Monday evening, August 25. We decided to ask the Diocese to send us resumes as they get them, rather than wait until they've collected a batch of 20 or so. We took care of some administrative details, and are ready to start reviewing applicants. Our next meeting is tentatively set for Monday, September 8.

We're encouraging members of the congregation to read the profile online if possible. It looks beautiful, and the design by Bob and Jim Walker makes it very readable. Parishioners without Internet access can call the church office and a copy will be sent to them. We're trying to save trees and money! Once the new rector is in place, we hope to use parts of the profile to create a new St. Andrew's history and information brochure that we can share with newcomers, visitors, etc. We will also have one or two copies of the profile attached to the bulletin board in the parish hall for review during coffee hour.

Parish Profile Completed

The calling of a new rector is a faithful journey of discernment. The next step in that journey is our parish profile, a document intended to illustrate who we are and what we aspire to be, which provides information to potential applicants and helps the parish learn about ourselves.

Search Timeline Updated

We're making lots of progress on the 5 basic steps in the search process. By the end of this month we will have completed both the preparation and the information gathering phase. Click here to see the specific steps in the updated timeline. The next major step is the completion of the parish profile, which is based on the surveys and the information we have gathered from the history meeting and the small groups. We're on target to publish the profile in early summer.

The Search Committee is a group of 11 members of St. Andrew's who were selected by the Vestry and are charged with managing the process of searching for our new rector.
